ROASaurus vs TrueProfit

TrueProfit shows what your Shopify store earns. ROASaurus does that too, and also sends every purchase server-side to your ad platforms and attributes it to the click.

The short answer

Choose TrueProfit if you only need a profit dashboard for one small Shopify store; its entry plan starts at $35/month. Choose ROASaurus if you want profit and the tracking that feeds the ad algorithms in one subscription, across several stores or webshop platforms.

Where TrueProfit is stronger

  • A lower price for stores with 176 to 300 orders a month ($35/month for up to 300 orders).
  • A focused profit app with a long track record on the Shopify App Store.

Where ROASaurus is stronger

  • Server-side tracking included, so the ad platforms get every purchase with hashed customer data.
  • POAS bidding: Meta can receive each order's profit before ads and optimise for profit.
  • Attribution and profit per campaign in the same place.
  • Several stores and non-Shopify webshops on one plan.

Switching from TrueProfit

  1. Install ROASaurus and let it import your Shopify orders, products and cost per item.
  2. Add your other costs under Profit: shipping rules, payment gateways, handling and custom costs. COGS can be imported from a CSV.
  3. Connect your ad accounts so spend and ROAS appear next to profit.
  4. Compare a closed month in both tools before you cancel.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does ROASaurus calculate profit the same way as TrueProfit?

By default it follows TrueProfit's published revenue and net profit definitions, so a closed month should come out close once your costs are entered the same way. Check the tax setting in both tools, because it decides how taxes count.

Is ROASaurus more expensive than TrueProfit?

It depends on your volume. For one store, on plan prices: ROASaurus costs nothing up to 100 orders a month on the Free plan, and no more than TrueProfit's $35 up to 175 orders with pay per order ($0.20 an order). TrueProfit costs less from 176 to 300 orders ($35), from 501 to 1,500 orders ($60 to $100 against $149) and from 3,001 to about 4,200 orders. ROASaurus costs less from 301 to 500 orders ($49 against $60), from 1,501 to 3,000 orders ($149 against $200) and above about 4,200 orders, and every ROASaurus plan also includes server-side tracking.

Can I import my COGS?

Yes. Shopify cost per item syncs automatically, and per-variant, per-country and bundle costs can be imported from a CSV.
