Get started with ROASaurus
From a new account to your first profit report in nine steps. Most stores are done in about ten minutes.
This tutorial follows a Shopify store. For WooCommerce, Wix and other webshops, steps 2 to 5 are in their guide in the help center; the rest is the same.
1. Create your account
Sign up at roasaurus.com. The 14-day trial includes every feature and needs no credit card.
2. Add your store
In ROASaurus, go to Add a store and pick your webshop. For Shopify, enter your shop address and create a connection key. Copy it: it is shown once and works for 7 days.
3. Install the app
Install ROASaurus from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions. The app opens in your Shopify admin. Accept the terms of service and the data processing agreement.
4. Connect the app to your account
On the app's Home page, paste the connection key and click Connect store. No key yet? Click Open ROASaurus and create a login instead.
5. Turn on the theme app embed
On Home, click Open theme editor, switch on the ROASaurus app embed and save. It tracks visits and ad clicks on every page. Checkout and purchases are tracked by the app's web pixel, which is installed for you.
6. Connect your ad platforms
Open Connections and add Meta, Google Ads, GA4, TikTok or any other platform that should receive your purchases. In the full app, Connect everything walks you through the logins for ad spend, one after the other.
7. Add your costs
Product costs sync from Shopify's cost per item. Set shipping, payment fees and other costs in the Profit settings, so reports show net profit after every cost.
8. Check that it works
Open your store with ?roasaurus=connected at the end of the address. The Setup status on Home counts storefront events and orders matched to a visit, and the Event log in the full app shows each event and whether it was sent.
9. Read your first reports
Once orders come in, the dashboard shows revenue, ad spend and net profit, profit and POAS per channel and campaign, attribution and customer lifetime value.
Next steps
- Read how attribution works and why the numbers differ from Ads Manager.
- Avoid double counting: one pixel should be sent by one app.
- See what each page and permission of the app does in the app documentation.
- Short answers are in the FAQ.
